Background

First and foremost i would like to welcome you to Daraja Africa. We are glad that you could spare your time to read our website and be part of us. Daraja Africa was born in april 2009 after the founder member discussing with different partners here in Sweden on the importance of highlighting the positive projects that people are doing to bring change in the world.

I Hellen Wanjiku have personally worked and initiated different projects in Nairobi slums and particularly in Korogocho slum where i have been born and brought up. When i was growing up i challenged myself to always be the carrier of change that i would like to see. These motto drove me into fighting for human rights and particularly for women,the youth and the children. I believe that in order for us to create the change that each and everyone of us believe in, we have to work together as a team. Travelling and exchanging ideas with different people is the best way to do it.

Volunteering and working with organisations that are already working at the grass root level is the best way to go!
